I always go out with them whenever I can, not just Christmas. Guess you lot must just not like the people you work with enough.
Many of them are very young amazing looking ladies as well, which is always good.
I wouldn't either. I was just wondering if it's the taste of the fact it's alcoholic that puts you off.Yi-Long wrote:Nope, I wouldnt drink alco-pops. Why bother? A coke is cheaper and usually more tasty.
Many cocktails are gross.Yi-Long wrote:10 minutes later, they had taken their first zips of their drinks, and were looking jealously at my tasty Coke.
I can certainly relate to that.Yi-Long wrote:I dont mind talking about serious stuff, or stuff that interests me... but I doubt a party/birthday is the right place and time to have a serious discussion about the Middle East, our goverment, immigration, Bush/USA, etc etc etc...
I dont mind 'chit-chat' when I shortly meet or speak to a friend. But to be 'locked' at a party for a few hours doing non-stop chit-chat etc... I dont see the appeal.
Personally I much prefer groups of 1 or 2 people, being honest just myself and someone else.Yi-Long wrote:So if I do meet with a big group, I want there to be some sort of activity to keep us all busy and occupied. Be it bowling, eating, a movie, whatever.
If you did drink even a little you'd find it much, much easier to enjoy yourself. You do realise it's specifically because you don't drink is why you hate them so much. You're not really joining in.Nope. most were nice. some were idiots. But being at a party means you'll be surrounded by at least a few idiots, plus by some people who are boozing, so they'll start behaving like idiots...
Anyway, even a few idiots is too much for me. Idiots annoy me. Drunk people annoy me.

I quite like parties but I absolutely detest discos and nightclubs.thelostdragon wrote:Parties bore me to death, no matter if it is a bar or a disco.
That is a very different one to drinking. Most people (outside of France) don't smoke. Doesn't Holland have a smoking ban? Like the UK. That's really a non-issue now.Yi-Long wrote:Same thing with smoking btw. Never got into it. Never had a need to get into it. It's nasty. It just tastes bad, and it stinks. So I never really bothered with it.
It must be the Asian blood in youthelostdragon wrote:What I do enjoy though are Karaoke nights. Karaoke is fun!

Hmmm... I wouldnt say I'm AGAINST alcohol. Personally I just dont feel a need to drink it. Never had the urge and probably never will.bradavon wrote:I wouldn't either. Then again to me Coke is disgusting compared with Beer. You're always given the smallest glass and it's so sweet. I hate having to drink it when I'm driving.
Personally I don't understand it why most people connect alcohol with getting drunk, in the sense you cannot have one without the other. I drink most weeks but only get drunk once or twice a year. I am a VERY slow drinker though.
Alcohol is dirt cheap for me when I usually buy 1-2 drinks in an evening, maybe 3. I drink it so slowly. I prefer talking than drinking.
Ow... I know I can be dull at a party. I've never pretended to be 'fun'Many cocktails are gross.Yi-Long wrote:10 minutes later, they had taken their first zips of their drinks, and were looking jealously at my tasty Coke.
It sounds like you're the sort of person who is dead against alcohol. Personally I could never go out with someone whose dead against alcohol. I've no problem if someone doesn't drink much but to be against it as if it's something evil just annoys me.
My Thai friend (who I think of as a sister) is that way. It gets a bit annoying when she comments I should be drinking something soft. Which I find strange when I'd never get drunk in front of her anyway. I have once, never again.
The trouble with people who don't drink ever at all is boy they can be dull at a party. Everyone is merry and tipsy and the sober person isn't. I hate it when I'm the one whose sober and stick right out.
Yeah women are usually nicer conversationalists, depending on the topic and the setting. But some women are idiots and some guys are very pleasant, so it really just differs from person to person.I can certainly relate to that.Yi-Long wrote:I dont mind talking about serious stuff, or stuff that interests me... but I doubt a party/birthday is the right place and time to have a serious discussion about the Middle East, our goverment, immigration, Bush/USA, etc etc etc...

I talk with my Mum about everything including some very deep topics. It's great but most my male mates are next to useless at it. It's always "small talk" and boy it gets dull. I usually find women are much more interesting to talk to than men anyway.
Ow... same here. I dont like big groups, and prefer 1-on-1 or 3 people or something like that. But sometimes you have no choice and you'll be in a big group, and if that's the case I'd like there to at least be something to do.Personally I much prefer groups of 1 or 2 people, being honest just myself and someone else.Yi-Long wrote:So if I do meet with a big group, I want there to be some sort of activity to keep us all busy and occupied. I don't like big groups as it's always next to impossible to have a proper conversation with them, even small talk about their lives.
I'm not gonna drink just so I'll have a good time. Using that excuse, I could start sniffing coke as well so I will enjoy trips to the dentist more(!)If you did drink even a little you'd find it much, much easier to enjoy yourself. No smoking ban YET in the public places. I do hope they hurry it up though. I cant stand smokers. If they do it outside than that's their choice. If they do it next to me in a restaurant and stink me up, I get pissed off. That is a very different one to drinking. Most people (outside of France) don't smoke. Doesn't Holland have a smoking ban? I only meant you stick out if you're the only one not drinking. Not because that's a bad thing or any such bollocks just that everyone is merry and you're not/less likely to be.I'm not gonna drink just so I'll have a good time. True. In my experience most men like to talk about bollocks such as Sport or Cars. I've no problem with either but not all night!Yeah women are usually nicer conversationalists, depending on the topic and the setting. I'm surprised to hear that. It's getting more and more common in the EU.No smoking ban YET in the public places. I do hope they hurry it up though. I cant stand smokers. If they do it outside than that's their choice. If they do it next to me in a restaurant and stink me up, I get pissed off.
Hey, if people at a party care about what I drink, then that's their business. I dont let that affect my behaviour or what I do and dont drink.bradavon wrote:I only meant you stick out if you're the only one not drinking.
