I meant it's better than most made out but also mostly rubbish. Dances with Wolves is excellent IMO.

I just got my first Blu-Ray BOGOF package (1 of 2) from Amazon.com and the stupid idiots have put the full value of the discs on the customs label. Not what I paid, but what they would have been without the special offer. Of course, this is not only illegal (to declare a false value) but is also much more likely to inccur the wrath of the customs. On this occasion we got away with it: I'm amazed as it was, due to the error, well over the £18 limit. Can't imagine the second box will be so lucky. Just warning you guys in case you get stung.

i heard about this elsewhere.some people who were stung threatened amazon with a cc chargeback and were refunded customs costs,others sent proof off to customs of what they'd paid and got it refunded that way.

Its not Illegal anyway, they are showing the full value of the items so if it goes wrong they get all the cash back. Its just stupid, not illegal.

I have about 10 in the post from the buy one get ojne free offer, I am claiming every penny back from customs and Royal Mail if I get any charges. Had one disc so far and as it was sent seperatly got no charge, but more to come and I do expect charges.

I think I'll be avoiding those Amazon.com HD Deals. I don't like BOGOF deals anyway.

It is illegal Romero, as while you're correct those are the value of the items, the point of being hit by customs is because you've not paid TAX when buying something but the second HD Disc is FREE so has no TAX to pay in the first place.

If you do get hit you'd definitely have a case.

You can claim back your cash if they make the mistake, dont see the problem myself. Your not paying anything as you get it all back anyway.

You think it's free? Are you insane?

They create these deals to get people to buy discs they probably wouldn't have bought otherwise. It's all to lure you in to buying something otherwise you'd have passed on. The cost of one HD Disc divided by two isn't exactly special anyway (£8-10 each). That's how I think about it, not that one is free because it isn't.

If it's a BOGOF type deal which has 2/3 titles I definitely want anyway then fine but 99% of the time I get one ace title and one okay title. No thanks. Give me a cheap single deal price and I'll take it buy BOGOF/Buy 3 get 1 free deals I rarely take up.

Add to that that we don't all spend 100% of our time buying DVDs. It's not the end of the world if I miss out on a deal.

Even MovieTyme's vouchers are a joke

, they don't offer enough bargains for me to use them regularly so they're forever expiring on me. I've just deleted 6 of them. They also send them to you after you've just paid full price for them. Gee Thanks.

I'm definitely going Region A so will pick this up. The USA Disney BD also has a choice of PCM or DD5.1 instead of the UK Warner HD-DVD or BD which just has DD Plus/DD5.1. Extras look to be the same across the board.
