Wow, that was fast!
Yes, it is Eastern Promises -- and what a fantastic film it is! Highly recommended (and I'm not just saying that because of Viggo Mortensen's completely nude fight scene
).

yeah, that nude fight is fantastic. The rest of the film is a bit disappointing but still not bad.

Did we watch the same film?
I'd say this is one of Cronenberg's best films. It works on many different levels. The acting is fantastic, the writing is top notch, and the different stories of the different players make quite an impact. If you have a chance to watch the bonus feature "Marked for Life," you should. It's a short, but fascinating, explanation of the language of Russian mafia tattoos.

The scrip nearly kills the whole movie. Melodrama and sentimentialism have no place in a Cronenbeg film.

All the Cronenberg films I've seen have been superb IMO.
Something from the Mainland for ya.

It can't be better than the nude fight scene in "Borat".

The colour filter reminds me of A World Without Thieves.
Be back in 12 hours to post a new cap if I'm right.

Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

Bingo! I was hoping someone would guess it because of the colour filter.

Was expecting to see several wrong Johnnie To-related guesses.

Lam Suet is just so sleazy and cheesy in that film that it's hard to forget.
Okay, here's a new one:
Country? Not sure, but director is American.
