King KOng (2005) 2 disc set - March 2006

Post by grim_tales »

From Imports Forum:
Word has it that director Peter Jackson's King Kong will be released in April as an elaborate two-disc set. According to DVD producer Michael Pellerin, they've saved a lot of behind-the-scenes material for this release that wasn't included on the recently released Kong Production Diaries. No word yet if Universal and Jackson will also release an "ultimate edition" extended cut a la New Line's "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy.

2 discs seems pretty standard, especially considering it has own "extras" release. Maybe a 3/4 discer will be released later.

I agree, the TC's of the LOTR movies only had 5.1 EX (IIRC). Somehow I doubt there'd be an EE of King Kong but you never know.

I meant more for the length of the film.

I can't see it having DTS at all unless it's released under the "Rogue Pictures" label, since it's fucking Universal. Universal haven't bothered with DTS with titles released under the general "Universal Pictures" umbrella since like late 2003.
