Arsenal v Wigan

Post by grim_tales »

:(
Arsenal were unlucky to go out (we won the game, even the aggregate score was the same) but they shouldnt have conceded the goal at the end. Oh well.
I thought they'd won after going 2-0 up :(

Well done Wigan though, they probably wanted it more and deserved it as its their first major final and everything. :D
We have the small matter of qualifying for Europe, the Champions League and the FA Cup this season.

:( :crybaby:

I know West Ham are in form, but winning 3-2 against us?!?! Especially Arsenal going 2-0 down.
Sol Campbell was crap and clearly not fully fit. Frustrating because at times (like at the start) Arsenal were all over West Ham.

Spurs lost too though.
Just hope Arsenal can win the next few games, qualifying for Europe is the thing.
Congratulations Henry on breaking Cliff Bastin's record.

Yeah Arsenal are really shite lately, especially defensively.
A cambell in-form is awesome to watch, but clearly, he hasnt been in form for weeks, and many of his mistakes were punished by the opposition, making it all look even worse.
Van Persie looked great again yesterday. Some nice twists and turns and shots. I feel he's already better then Robben, who was regarded one of Holland biggest new talents the last few years.
I really hope all the young Dutch talent will perform their best at the coming world cup this summer, cause with Van Der Vaart, Robben, Van Persie and maybe Kalou, we would have some top-quality young players :)

Yeah Van Persie was quite good. :)
Hope they can perform against Brum on Saturday (I think?) Going above Wigan is the first step, and then Spurs, which is not insurmountable by any means.

They play Brums next? gawd it's a shame Kanu isnt there at the moment as he's playing in the African Nations Cup...
Would have liked to have seen him make a fool of Campbell :P

Brum is Birmingham, not West Brom.

Did you see the Arsenal-Bolton game Yi? Great game, 1-1 was probably a fair result, Arsenal dominated the 2nd half but Bolton's keeper was brilliant.

I didnt see either match, just some highlights. Arsenal are just very shite at the moment. I doubt they can cope without Bergkamp, cause without him, the team often looks like 11 individuals, instead of 1 team.
I'm getting very fed up with Reyes, always diving like a bitch. Hopefully Bergkamp and VP will be fit again soon.

It's s a shame, cause for years, Arsenal have been my favourite team, but the way they are playing at the moment isnt anything like it was 1-2 years ago. Back then their game was gorgeous to watch, while at the moment, it's just another team struggling.
I dont think Wenger is a very good tactician either. He's great with his players, and has a keen eye on talent, but when he's in trouble during the match, he often waits wayyy too long before he makes any changes that could turn the game around.

Yeah, Arsenal are not the same team :( I still think they'll get into Europe but thats not really good enough - I mean they keep losing/drawing games they would won easily 1-2 years ago (Everton? Bolton?) and lack conviction.

They'll still be top 4 probably - I mean Spurs won't win all their games.
