David Lynch Fans look in - Free DVD!

Post by bradavon »

Take a journey through David Lynch's creative process.

Room to Dream: David Lynch and the Independent Filmmaker is a free DVD that features original interviews with acclaimed director David Lynch. See and hear how Lynch brings his unique vision to the screen with technologies that are now within easier reach for independent filmmakers. Interspersed with behind-the-scenes footage from a recent project, Lynch muses on the art of filmmaking, offers wisdom to aspiring filmmakers, and shows you the power of today's tools to give you Room to Dream.

The DVD then provides a closer look at how digital technologies can transform your approach to production. Using an Avid Xpress® Studio HD system plus integrated Digidesign® and Softimage® products, Room to Dream presents on-screen demonstrations — featuring clips from Lynch's project — that walk you through pre- and post production, editing, color correction, visual effects, titling, final output, and more.

I was wondering that but why give the option if they don't support it.

I ordered mine back on the 22nd of Feb and still don't have it so I wouldn't get your hopes up at it actually arriving.

Has anyone else's arrived?

Some here have got theirs -

Lost Highway is one of Lynch's weaker work IMO.

Oh yes. Lynch talks about the process he goes through with filmmaking, the advantages of DV, his ideas about filmmaking, etc. All fascinating stuff. This is all intercut with "behind the scenes" footage of a scene from an upcoming project (shot in DV), which might be from his new film "Inland Empire".

Then we get to see the completed scene, it goes on for about 5 mins and is quite strange. Great stuff.

The 3rd featurette is just an "infomercial" for AVID software and hardware. Waste of time.

Yeah, it's called "Inland Empire". It was in post-production last I heard. No idea when it's out, I guess that it maybe premiered at this year's Cannes if the film is finished by then.
