I'm looking for the German DVD of Scream

Post by BiscLimpkit »

Can anyone help me find it?

Rewind Comparison

I would maybe settle for the KR R3 but I'd prefer the German R2, for all those extras.

Most importantly however, I'd love to watch this uncut...

Disney don't release unrated DVDs as policy.

Bullshit. What was the Unrated release of Wes Craven's Cursed and The Darkness then?

Then they've changed their policy recently.

In the past Disney never released Unrated films because of the MPAA, which is why Scream was always put out cut on DVD, even the Special Edition.

Maybe an Unrated Scream will surface now though?

I am not sure what company your looking at? as they have re-released loads of titles more than once, so yes its coming and as far as I know its already been confirmed on more than one site by people who were working on the dvds. :) so its up to you to buy now, or buy again on the 10th Anniversary.

I guess I need to buy the Sixth Sense again for its anniversary again also  maybe not

A non-issue for me for me since that movie is shit! :D Even if I wanted to watch it, it's on TV over here as often as Four Weddings and a Funeral.

Why are Disney releasing Hard Boiled and The Killer then??? , assuming they still own the rights of course.

I bet Disney will re-release this in a proper SE, isn't the current one non-anamorphic? But I bet it will still be cut. It maybe cheaper to get the Korean over German DVD as that looks to be uncut too but it does have less extras.

I've never worked out why this is loved so much. It's nothing more than an average teen slasher flick. It's not in the same league as Halloween.

Possibly. Your best bet to make sure is pop CD WOW and e-mail. The cover art over at Amazon.de is different:

http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000084T9T

I'd also pop LD a PM.

Are feeling ok Brad? ;) AFAIK Di$ney are still sitting on both films.
isn't the current one non-anamorphic?
Yes. the current R1 is non-anamorphic. The same bloody edition on offer since 1997 (my brother bought it when we got the family's 1st DVD player in '97)

That's what I've always thought. The film is no post-modern "revelation" that satirised the teen slasher sub-genre like every (delusional) man and his dog claims. As you said Brad, it's just another generic teen slasher.

Please post your findings here too Bisc.
