THE EVIL DEAD remake....

Post by grim_tales »

ARRRGH! This has to stop! When will it end?!:o:wacko:
Make them stop!!!

This is a film that simply doesnt NEED remaking, I'm not the worlds biggest horror nut but I do like Bruce Campbell and TED movies, and understand these films were products of their time and especially the first was groundbreaking in it's day. Don't mess about with that please. As Knetan says "Its a time capsule that shouldn't be fucked with"!
Thankyou. This has been a public service announcement.. ;)

I thought Evil Dead was already remade! (as Evil Dead 2!) :P:D
If Raimi isnt directing (boo!) get Bruce back, otherwise it isn't EVIL DEAD, IMO!
Anyway CGI effects (which is probably how this remake will be done) just won't have the same effect as the original's make up. I know that was cheesy too but sometimes it can go too far in the other direction and you KNOW something is a CGI effect, you know?
Didnt Raimi say he wouldnt rule out EVIL DEAD 4, doing one with Ash in the post apocolyptic world at the end of ARMY OF DARKNESS?

This is bad news... I'd like to see another Evil Dead film with Bruce Campbell but doubt it'll happen now.

I dont mind them anyway as if they as good as the origanal, there no problems at all, as long as they aint exact shot for shot remakes and it wouldnt be anyway.

Hmm... well ETD was very much a film of its time IMO. Now the whole "teens trapped in a spooky cabin/house" thing has been done to death over the years but Raimi did it in such a way. It was something new back then I think, also note the use of comedy/humor mixed in with the horror, this is also used on films like "An American Werewolf In London" (Director: John Landis, 1981) that broke new ground too :)

I cannot see them doing this. It's too loved to be remade. No one will watch it as unless Raimi is involved no horror fans will go....

Anyone heard any more about the rumour that Park Chan-wook will be directing this? Sounds pretty unlikely to me.

I read some stuff on Teletext today that Quentin wants to make a film with Ash v Jason (or something like that) according to the Hollywood Reporter (I think) but must get the go-ahead from Raimi.

:o :? Wasnt this the stupid Freddy v Jason v Ash idea that died a death? :?

[Romero]its' all lies anyway[/Romero]
