HKL BOGOF - Whose got one? Whose going to bother?

Post by bradavon »

I recently got a BOGOF Voucher Code through e-mail but looking at their prices I'm not sure it's worth the bother.

The saving is either small or there is no saving at all (sometimes it's still more expensive).

What are members thoughts?

Conisdering HKL's prices I wouldnt bother IMO. Would be cheaper to get 2 DVDs from the likes of Play.
I havent got the voucher, when did you get this?

I did. The code only enables you to BOGOF from a limited choice of titles which have had their prices inflated to £20 and beyond. I object to them sending me such bullshit.

A few days ago via e-mail. I had to fill some form in and they sent me the code. I don't have the original e-mail any more sorry. It's for Father's day.

I did work out a 97p saving on "City on Fire" and "Full Contact" instead of the CD WOW "Full Contact" and "City on Fire" Play.com prices. This was using £2 off for CD WOW though with £3 off it wouldn't be worth it. It may have been a £1 saving but either way pretty useless.

I've since ordered Full Contact for £3.99 from CD WOW (which has shipped) anyway.

Actually I've just found the link in my history:

Are you sure? I saw those stupid reprices (more than the actual site) but I don't remember reading I had to pay any attention to them.

I figured I could order from the main link. Like when CD WOW say "you must click on this link to activate the voucher" which as we know is bollocks.

I put cheaper titles She Shoots Straight and King of Beggars into the shopping cart - with the code - to check and no discount was applied. So a waste of time unless you wanna pay a £20 minimum.

So you entered the code and it confirmed you'd put it in but nothing was taken off, right?

As I've not bothered HKL have e-mailed me saying I can now get 25% off instead of BOGOF.

I've just checked and - City on Fire:

£7.99 @ Play
£8.24 @ HKL with 25% off

Right I'll go with HKL :D

p.s - That said Seoul Raiders is £9.74 making it cheaper than elsewhere (compared with DVDPopcorn at £11.59), that's still to much though.
