The Sentinel - Jack Bauer.. er I mean Kiefer Sutherland

Post by grim_tales »

Or: 24: The Movie :D

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0443632/

I tell you, when I first saw the trailer, the first thing I thought of was 24.

Plot Outline from IMDB: Special Agent Pete Garrison (Michael Douglas) is convinced that a Neo-Nazi Aryan Disciple has managed to infiltrate the White House. When a White House Agent is murdered, Garrison is framed and blackmailed over an affair with the First Lady Sarah Ballentine. He is relieved of his duties, but Garrison won't stop in trying to prove his innocence, and save the life of the President. While attempting to uncover the person behind it all, he comes into confrontation with his protege, Agent Breckinridge. (Kiefer Sutherland).

According to the guy/board on IMDB the film is pretty bad though.

I think it might be bad because from when I saw the trailer I already felt like I knew who the real bad guy is (I'm guessing Sutherland)
I dont know if that hunch is right or not, but that's just the feeling I get, and if it is right, I guess most have gotten that feeling too, so the hole 'who-dunnit' thing is ruined from the get-go...

I havent seen any episoded of 24 yet. I'm waiting till me and my girl are living together, and by that time I'll probably pick up some good mini-series to watch together...
Havent really seen much of other good TV shows either... like the Sopranos and stuff...

Erm, that plot outline is just so wrong. It's almost like reading the back of my HK DVDs from the late 90s! ...

And this is actually quite an enjoyable flick. And no, you won't know who the bad guy is (I think - atleast I didn't, they kept it quite hidden and "tricky"...)

Not quite the 24 Movie either I think... One reviewer on the IMDB said the film was full of character background bits that had no relation to the movie---that reviewer must've seen another flick - because The Sentinel seemed rather polished I think.

I haven't seen the trailer though, so I can't compare that to the full movie.
So long, and thanks for all the fish!

OK, I only said 24 movie because Kiefer was in it in a 24 type role and the story sounded sort of 24-ish :D

From that write up, I would have said as much as well!

Atleast I didn't see it as a "24" movie when I saw it... sure it's got similarities, it deals with secret service and agents ffs... but not very much beyond that. And we see lots more of Douglas than Sutherland... (And Eva is just there for you pervs to oogle at... literally...)
So long, and thanks for all the fish!
