The German Paramount releases of A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More are excellent. The R2DE release FAFDM is the only fully uncut version on DVD (as far as English-language DVDs go at least, some Italian and/or Japanese release probably used an uncut print as well.), the MGM release is cut. Superior remastering jobs to the MGM releases + excellent restored original English mono tracks. The MGM DVDs only have naff 5.1 remixes with replaced/added foley effects. ALL the menus and extras (ported over from the MGM releases) are in English too.

Nope, genuine PAL for the first few batches at least - the last batch reportedly took a nose-dive in quality where at least one of the five titles was NTSC-PAL and the title from that batch that I did buy, The Five Venoms, looked weaker than usual.Markgway wrote:Aren't the German Shaws PAL-to-NTSC-to-PAL?
The first batch was all non-anamorphic
Have Sword, Will Travel
The 36th Chamber Of Shaolin
Soul Of The Sword
Return To The 36th Chamber
Lion Vs. Lion
Batch 2 and 3 were all anamorphic
Come Drink With Me - weak in picture quality since it's a blow-up of the non-anamorphic master, which had a noticeable bend in the top bar. Subs have the repeating problem as on the IVL. The Dutch DVD appears to have a new transfer so if you don't need subs, get this one
Vengeance!
The Heroic Ones
The Shadow Whip
Boxer From Shantung
The Web Of Death
Invincible Shaolin - interlaced
The Emperor And His Brother
Secret Service Of The Imperial Court
Disciples Of The 36th Chamber
Batch 4
The Magic Blade
Clans Of Intrigue
Legend Of The Bat
The Five Venoms
Human Lanterns
