My god check this out:

And too think some people think Tartan are the worst DVD distributor out there (seemingly forgetting bar their Asian NTSC-PAL output they're flawless).
On another note is "Fanny & Alexander" any good? I've been meaning to pick up the Uber Deluxe 5 Disc Criterion.

I would automatically buy that if it said "woop-ass Ingmar Bergman Collection" on the packaging.

I like Tartan. As for the worst DVD distributor... hmm maybe Premier Asia or something.

, you must be joking. World's Worst?
Personally I think Tartan produce more good than bad and when they produce good they really do. I also think in terms of titles they're in the top 3 for exciting titles.

The World's Worst would have to be like Siren Visual in R4-land or some shitty HK distributor like Edko or Panorama.

Whats wrong with those? Edko has already been mentioned but as for Panaroma, I find their HK 2 disc of Zatoichi to be good

Both Edko and Panorama ALWAYS release interlaced DVDs.

Chuck that on Ebay and upgrade to the Artificial Eye CE tin immediately, the best transfer of the film around.

Nope but it's expensive. You could get the 1 Disc AE DVD, it has the same transfer just less extras and no DTS.

In that case I'll keep the HK DVD, the DTS is great

Just in case the 2 Disc has DTS but the 1 Disc doesn't.

LOL I know I own it. I was talking about the UK DVDs, although the same rule applies to the HK DVDs (1 disc being a DVD-5 and far inferior PQ).
