Name me the best English language DVD News & DVD Forums?
As title? Except for this site of course + DVD Times, DVD Active, DVD Forums and The Import Forums which I know of.
I'm after some new sites I'm not aware of. Any I should pay attention to?
Ideally they'd be European based (not crucial) and be general about DVDs instead of centric to a particular area (like Asia).
Cheers

Why naturally? Is it one of the best?EvaUnit02 wrote:Davisdvd.com naturally.
Don't they only cover R1? I can't see a Search option which seems crucial when it's all dumped into one page per day.
I'll take a look cheers. DVD Talk I suspect is a bit too American I'll see.EvaUnit02 wrote:Hometheaterforum and dvdtalk forum are good.
EDIT: Ow that HT Forum looks like just the ticket, lots of separate categories instead of specialising in say Asian movies and one General forum for the rest. Thanks Eva.
It actually looks very similar to the AV Forums, no harm in two similar forums though. I hope the user base is good at the HT Forums.
It looks UK based, am I right?
I'm only interested in joining 2 maybe 3 forums. Bullets is great as it's small, easy to get around and we all know each other but for more general stuff there aren't enough members by half and not enough forums to discuss in.

Ah thanks. If possible I'd prefer a UK R2/R1 website.EvaUnit02 wrote:Davisdvd.com often get R1 news pieces before anyone else. Good to have in your bookmarks toolbar.
There's a big difference between a Yank and Brit/Aussie/Kiwi mentality as you know.I spend most of my time in Pom and Aussie forums - learn adapt old man.
I post at Madman from time to time but do get the distinct feeling the members are so far away from the rest of civilisation but that could equally just be the members instead of locality.

HTF is yank based IIRC. The dudes there are more knowledgeable than TheDVDF and people from the DVD industry post there, like Robert Harris - he saved Spartacus DC, Lawrence of Arabia DC, Vertigo and Rear Window from oblivion; Don May Jr. who has restored many horror classics like Texas Chainsaw, Nightmare on Elm St, Halloween. Gary Tooze of Beav too (for what that one is worthbradavon wrote:EDIT: Ow that HT Forum looks like just the ticket, lots of separate categories instead of specialising in say Asian movies and one General forum for the rest. Tell me about it. I remember you arguing with those selfish xenophobic pricks in that subtitle thread.bradavon wrote:I post at Madman from time to time but do get the distinct feeling the members are so far away from the rest of civilisation but that could equally just be the members instead of locality.
Very true. Aussie and Kiwi mentalities are very different (as probably you know, having visited both countries). There's a big difference between a Yank and Brit/Aussie/Kiwi mentality as you know.
I post on the forum of an Aussie horror film site called Digital-Retribution.com, the people there are a load of fun and quite knowledgeable - it is as laid back as Bullets, if not more so. It is a horror DVD news and review site, very useful when I need to find about R4 DVDs of any genre (not just horror). The webmaster there is a really cool dude, like the DVDactive guys.

Blimey they're worlds apart.EvaUnit02 wrote:Aussie and Kiwi mentalities are very different (as probably you know, having visited both countries
I'd so Poms, Aussies and Kiwis closer in mentality than The Yanks who share mentality with Canadians (although it's not as extreme).
It's a pity not all webmasters of news sites aren't as relaxed as them.EvaUnit02 wrote:like the DVDactive guys.
