My Xbox is having dvd-playback problems...

Post by Yi-Long »

I've noticed it before, when at the end of a single-layer DVD, my xbox has trouble reading the disc and it causes serious freezes and distortions etc. Some games also have problems, like Battlefield 2 often freezes while loading a level for online.

Anyone know if it's fixable? Or should I try and get a new Xbox or whatever? They're pretty hard to find nowadays though :(

Maybe an excuse to get an Xbox 360?

Maybe, but since I am on welfare for about a month now, due to a medical problem we'll have to get rid of first (docs dont know what it is, so I'm going from test to test at the moment), I doubt I'll be able to buy one anytime soon :)
Plus some of my fave games are still not playable on the 360 (Rallisport Challenge 2 for instance) plus ofcourse there's a problem with the save-games...

So no, no 360 for me in the near future. :)

Is your Xbox modded? If not then try shoving in the most recent Live-enabled game you have and try to access the Live with it. It should install the a more recent dashboard.
