Well done Shen.
I really wasn't the "Formal Education" type. I really, really struggled just not getting it. My GCSE marks were all E and Fs (which doesn't mean fail). I definitely didn't try hard enough but couldn't have bumped it much higher.
I did get straight Merits at College though (equivalent to Bs) in my GNVQ and BTEC courses (the latter equivalent to A-Levels but maybe not as hard). I was much more suited to College life.
Not that GCSE's mean shit after a few years work experience or A Levels/Uni, presuming you have enough GCSE's to do the A Levels. I had to do the GNVQ to give me enough for the BTEC.
I've not once been asked what my GCSE grades actually were.

Nice going, Toge and Shen. Bringing up the average educational level here at BNB from 'borderline stupid' to 'almost normal functional'
If I find something, anything, I'm interested in, or intent on mastering, I can do that. The only problems I had at graphic design school were with some teachers, failing printers, and HD's/databases that got deleted. I pretty much eased through graphic design school, apart from some stuff which was in my eyes useless crap I was never going to need. (cutting and pasting for 'fashion', poems (!) and 'abstract art' where you had to throw as much paint onto your paper as you possibly could, come up with a nice BS story to 'motivate' your 'art', etc. I didnt care for that kind pf pretentious bullshit. And I said so. Teachers dont take criticism well, I noticed.
Right now, I'd be much more motivated to study and learn etc, than I was at 14-20. At that age I just didnt know what I wanted to do, except that I wanted to do martial arts and football and videogames. TBH, that's STILL all I want to do, but it just isnt possible anymore. Not your whole life. Unless I go into a Beijing monastary or something, which I doubt my girlfriend would appreciate (in fact, I KNOW she wont appreciate that, as I've already mentioned that option to her).
Man... growing up sucks so bad.
Same here, Mark. When I was in school I just wasnt interested in the crap they teach there. Some of it I liked and got good grades, but just as much was useless and I wasnt interested in it, so I got mediocre grades.Markgway wrote:I wish I could do my exams now instead of ten years ago.
I'd get As but back then I was fucking clueless.
Only managed Cs.
Mind you they've made the exams easier since.

I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...
