X Factor Season 4

Post by grim_tales »

Anyone watching this? I missed the first episode but caught a but of yesterday's one. That girl called Rachel was horrible, really rude and bitchy to the judges. And she couldn't sing either. In her promo clip she went on about having the X Factor, when she came in she demanded a mic etc
I don't know which is worse, self deluded people who are told they are good by their family, or self deluded, stuck up tarts who have too high an opinion of themselves and are mean and disagreeable because of this...

I've decided not to watch this series.

I'm fed up with these shows producing arse.

Shayne Ward anyone?

Until they scrap the judges it'll be the same.

Watched a bit of the auditions.
Did anyone see that Japanese woman? In her 30's but sounded about 6 years old :?
I think she was pretended to be put through but wasnt really. She was very bad but fair do's English isnt her first language. How could she put herself through that?
Maybe she should have sang enka. This was the judges showing how nice they were.

The group who sang "We Built This City" were a pile o' arse.
Well actually they didn't sound THAT bad at the start, I thought they were going to be like The Unconventionals (X Factor S3).

What does Sharon Osbourne have to offer? I'd say Dannii is as experianced as Sharon Osbourne.

Danni is uber hot too. As for the show it's entertaining I suppose while it's on but the number of actually successful arts from the international series amounts to urmm, three:

Kelly Clarkson
Will Young
Girls Aloud

I do hear Shayne Ward is bringing out a second album so at least he's managed that but as for being successful come one. Even Leona who was genuinely talented is now gone.

You need more than singing talent and frankly few have it. Let's face is Girls Aloud are still here for more than just their singing talent (which is weak at best).

Actually I think they're the best thing about it. Sure Simon Cowell has a huge ego but he does play off Louis Walsh well.

I doubt I'll watch any of the live shows though.

You're right, Will Young was a success mostly because he decided NOT to be managed by Cowell (IMO).

I heard a bit of Shayne Ward's new single... absolute shite as expected!!!

It's knobs like Simon Cowell who've ruined the UK music industry.

I predict this will be the first decade since the charts began that Britain will fail to produce ten great artists/bands.

And if anyone says The Arctic Monkeys they're getting a kick in the balls...

I wouldn't go that far, it's better than his previous attempts. The trouble is it sounds identical to all the other plastic pop out there. You cannot tell them apart.
Markgway wrote:It's knobs like Simon Cowell who've ruined the UK music industry.
Hardly Cowell is just cashing in on a business that already existed.

Like the 1990s is full of top artisits, it's no better or worse than it has ever been.

I saw her. The Japanese can be so absurdly wacky and obsessive. I bet there is Simon Cowell dolls in Japan :D

They didn't put her through Grim. Imagine flying the other side of the world just to be judged for 5 minutes.

Did you see the guy who fell for Danni? That was classic :D

You must've heard something different... I'd try and find a video clip but I don't want my ears to bleed again.
Hardly Cowell is just cashing in on a business that already existed.
Look back the last ten years and see the the resume of steaming cat shite that this man has made millions out of.

Ash
The Beautiful South
Blur
The Cranberries (OK, they're Irish)
Garbage
Oasis (first two albums)
Pulp
Skunk Anansie
Suede
Supergrass

That's ten to start........

I meant I've heard way worse that's all, haven't you?
Markgway wrote:Look back the last ten years and see the the resume of steaming cat shite that this man has made millions out of.
He's not exactly the first to cash in on a popular idea.
Markgway wrote:That's ten to start........
Strange you despise lots of the recent Indie bands then name acts like Ash and Oasis. The sound is all but the same.

Beautiful South and Pulp are utter trash, awful, ghastly. Oh and Garbage are three quarters American you fail :D . The Cranberries are outstanding though, shame they went down hill a wee bit after their second album and never really recovered. Still good though.

WAY worse? That's like trying to categorise piles of shit. Is brown worse than off-yellow?
He's not exactly the first to cash in on a popular idea.
This is Cowell's "contribution" to pop music:

Curiosity Killed the Cat, Sonia Evans, Five, Westlife, Robson & Jerome, Ultimate Kaos, World Wrestling Federation, Teletubbies, Zig and Zag and the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers...... and let's not get started on Gareth Gates.

How can you begin to defend this man??
Beautiful South and Pulp are utter trash, awful, ghastly.
:o
Oh and Garbage are three quarters American you fail :D .
Yeah, but the frontperson is Scottish, and that counts for a bigger percentage.

Westlife is Louis Walsh ;)
Yeah, but the frontperson is Scottish, and that counts for a bigger percentage.
Enough to make them suddenly British? ;)

Yes that's it. He came across as a bit desperate. She seemed to like him up until she voted him off.
I'm sure there's a Pop Idol type show in Japan too.
Probably although it's not produced (yet) but Cowell.

Mark don't forget Made In London or 21st Century Girls.
Oh wait you forgot them. QED I think ;)

Ultimate Kaos bloody hell, there was something disturbing about those "urban" mini-pops if you ask me.
I don't like Cowell, the man's an arrogant tosser.
And I like Beautiful South, Pulp, Oasis. Though I can't recall many Blur songs before they went all cockney on us (Parklife - which was good, and Country House, which was naff).

Song 2 is decent but way to short. I like the video to Country House. Anyway I say more of Dannii:
