Re: Work on new Bond movie suspended
Let's hope the series will get some new and capable producers. GoldenEye and the rest of the Brosnan flicks were awfull. Casino Royale was absolutely great, but perhaps a fluke, considering the travesty that was Quantum of Solace.
I do hope there will be a new Bond with once again Craig in the lead role though. He's great as Bond, and probably the only good thing about QoS.

It's a real shame. I was looking forward to Craig's next Bond.

Bad news indeed. I was looking forward to Bond 23 with Daniel Craig. As one of the few (it seems) who really enjoyed QOS I would've been happy with more of the same. If MGM can't get their act together can't Eon take the production elsewhere? I'm sure all the major studios would be queuing up to put money into 007. The last two films were co-produced by Columbia (Sony).

QOS with a decent story. I'd be very happy with. Which is what CR is and that's fantastic. I've got the single disc release because I hear the DE is only better because of extras. The AV is the same.

QoS has an ok story, but it was crammed horribly into a short 106 minutes, changing it into a fast-paced action flick, and the action was absolutely horrendous.

QOS is a an excellent film, maybe i like it better because i'm far from a Bond expert having only seen a few of the films.

Re: Work on new Bond movie suspended
I hope this isnt the end of Craig as Bond or even the franchise itself (I doubt, Bond is too big a moneyspinner for that) and we see a new Bond with Craig in the lead. I'd rather have him than Sam Worthington or Will Smith (!)
(Both were reported as actors who "could" take over should Craig decide not to return, but its assumed he will).

I really cannot see Smith playing Bond. Would they be so dumb as to hire a North American? He'd be rubbish too. I don't mind Irish, Scottish, Welsh and at a stretch Aussie or a Kiwi but American and Canadian, is definitely taking it too far!
It's the only major franchise the Brits have left. It's one thing for the Yanks to part finance it but I sure as hell don't want a yank in the lead. I suspect we'll be seeing Craig again as Bond. Lets hope anyway.

If they ever decide to go with a black Bond then I demand that Chiwetel Ejiofor be cast!

I think Smith would be totally wrong for Bond, also Bond works for UK Government/Queen etc so to have an American play Bond just wouldn't work.bradavon wrote:I really cannot see Smith playing Bond. The source is the Daily Mirror, I'll wait for further confirmation.

Re: Work on new Bond movie suspended
This is sad news. Despite how rubbish QoS was, I really enjoyed Craig as Bond.
Did you guys hear that they're remaking the classic Goldeneye 64 game for the Wii? It's looking pretty good, but bizarrely they've replaced Brosnan with Craig, licensing issues would be my guess.

It would also confuse a generation of fans.EvaUnit02 wrote:Did you guys hear that they're remaking the classic Goldeneye 64 game for the Wii? It's looking pretty good, but bizarrely they've replaced Brosnan with Craig, licensing issues would be my guess.
