Re: The Wicker Tree
Ok I'm feeling nows the time for me to revisit the original Wicker Man.
I know there's a Directors Cut....is there much of a reason to go for that one or stick to an uncut theatrical cut?
Hopefully there's a UK Blu I can rent before seeing the new film.

Re: The Wicker Tree
I hope there's a UK Blu too, but not sure if thats possible given the conditions of the scenes from the DC (on the DVD they looked like shit).
The DC is much better than the theatrical cut as it has more backstory.

Re: The Wicker Tree
Yeah checked out the wiki. Seems there's no real original cut or true Directors cut. Only two reconstructions (one done by Hardy in the late 70's), and the most recent longer one used tape sourced elements. They need to find that original preview print (only one in the world existed apparently!) to do anything major with the film! Still a branched Blu built around the short version in HD would be a start!
I couldn't find out with is now Robin Hardy's preferred cut. Think I'll pick up the SE DVD for now...
