Sports betting. Anyone do it?

Post by degeneration »

Thought I'd ask this, cause for some stupid reason I've been very interested on betting on football recently.

Those who have read the World Cup Qualifers thread will know that I was saying that I was going ot bet on the results. Fortunately I didn't each time as I would have lost.

But now I have bet on coral.co.uk. £5 I bet.

have bet on football and the following teams to win.

Arsenal beat Norwich (this should happen)
Man U beat Blackburn (again it should, but Blackburn could be stubborn and Man U are quite on and off)
Chelsea beat Southampton (they should, but Southampton are on a good run just now, and Crouch is in form)
Celtic beat Hearts (at home, they should win. Hearts can have good days though)
Rangers beat Motherwell (Motherwell may be looking for revenge, but Rangers should win through title chase motivation)
Gretna beat East Fife (Gretna are almost unstoppable in their league, but so far ahead they may be complacent...)

If they all win then I should win £20.

Was going to throw in Peterhead too, and that would have got me £28 ish, but decided not to risk it.

Anyway, fingers crossed now.

If I win I think I'll take the £15 profit and then just keep betting the original £5 stake on different events and try to increase a little at a time.

Don't want to get addicted!!!

So does anyone else bet at all on sports?

Personally no but considering I find 99% of sports boring and even the 1% only fun for about 10 mins or so then it's unlikely I ever will.

As for betting generally I can't be bothered tbh. I've never entered the national lottery and I can't say I ever will. I'm not against betting just can't bothered. That's not to say I won't have a bet with a mate over something or other.

Yep... damn Celtic and Man U... Two teams that I honestly would have expected to win at home...

Oh well. If you don't take the risk, then you don't gain anything. You do lose something though...
