Nuisance calls

Post by grim_tales »

For some reason since we moved house (and got a new phone number), we get a lot of annoying calls recently

I dont mean just the "wrong number" type, I mean the ones that appear to be "automated".. twats who ring your number, you pick up the phone, say "hello".

No response. You say "hello" louder, or something.

Still nothing. 2 seconds later the line is dead. You think "What the..? :?

This really annoys me and we've had loads of these recently.

I'd ask your Mum if I were you.

p.s - Why you moved how, how would we know?

I have and she hates it as well. We're supposed to be on the nuisance call register or something like that but it still happens. :(

What do you mean how would you know? :D

Brad said that because I still live at home. He means ask her for advice etc, if she's having the same problem (which she is).
I've also had about 6 "I'm calling on behalf of Sky" calls because "they want to have a chat and check our digibox is working OK".

Yes its fine now go away. What is there to say?

I think we're on that register to stop spam calls but it still happens now and again... "You've won a trip to Las Vegas!!" Yeah, right... cause shit like that happens to me all the time... There was a time it was so bad - "do you want double glazing?" "do you want to fuck off??" - that I stopped answering the phone.

During happier times when I had my own place we used to get many of these random calls, from the 'is <insert name here> here' ones from debt collectors and the like to the strange ones you mention where there are vague sounds in the background but noone speaking. we used to play them music :D

dont have a phone plugged into the phoneline in the current place, just use it for sky and thats it!
