How biggoted are you really?

Would you date/sleep with a member of the opposite sex if they were from a different race/religion as you? We all like to act liberal on these issues but when it comes to the crunch would you do it? Or would your prejudices rise to the surface? For me I would say I would go out with someone from a different background. I would never not be with a woman because she wasn't white. As for religion well I don't have a problem of someone being from any religion (i'm not religious so the term 'other' doesn't apply) unless it would interfere in our relationship. For example: if she wanted to raise our child in a religion and I didn't. But that's not about prejudice so you don't have to go there.

Yes I'd go out a woman no matter what skin colour she was or religion however a religion such as Muslimism or Hinduism wouldn't last. Our cultures are to different.

if a woman of religeon was willing to go out with me then i'd be suspicious as she must be lying about something... skin colour? no an issue (unless it involves fake tan lines.. shudders..) i am however fattist (>16st = nope) and single motherist (had the chance, realised luckily at the start i'm not even willing to go there...)

as such i say im just as bad if not worse, people are attracted to different things, and whilst society may dictate what people arent allowed to be attracted to its much more ridiculous to tell people they should be attracted to someone because if they are not then they are a racist

I probably am this to being honest but I do weight 54.4Kg (roughly 9 stone).

I'm not sure that makes me a bigot as I have nothing against people over weight it's just I wouldn't go out with someone who was.

Having dated a black girl from Dakar and a chinese buddhist (talk about diversity

) I have to say that skin color and religion mean nothing.

It would only matter if the girl tried to convert me to her religion (never gonna happen anyway).

BTW: Although I'm caucasian I've never been attracted to any kind of european women (typical french/british/german type of girls). What does that make me ?

Used to go out with a Brunian-Chinese girl for 14 months - the lying, cheating bitch.

Skin colour makes no difference, either they are attractive to me or they are not. And I've seen people from every skin colour who I've been attracted to.

Religion - I'd still go out with a girl regardless of her religion, but like has been stated, if she was very religious that would lead to problems if things went very serious with us. I don't want my kids brought up in relogion, but my religious other half probably would = arguements. We'd probably have such different opinions and views on things that a relationship would struggle to last.

Brad - I'm just 10stone, and I think I'm quite slim/slight built and possibly a little underweight... you're just 9 stone?!?! Yikes!

ok the whole religeon thing. if you are highly religeous how can you knowingly get into a serious relationship with someone who's not, or is even pasivly against religeon?. i can sort of imagine the hypocracy of someone saying 'yeah he/she doesnt believe in the lord, but thats ok, he/she's a great person'. its called moving the line of whats ok to suit your needs at the time. which i guess is what most modern religeons basically do anyway.. so yeah, i'll shut up now...

Like has been said by everyone else, I would accept someone following a religion on a personal basis, but wouldn't allow my child to be brought up in one. I believe religion should be chosen by adults who've thought things through, not imposed on entire generations.

I think it depends on what religion we're discussing. Buddhism for example is a very open religion and doesn't push itself on others. It's all about understanding and respect.

Case in point many Thai women (88-89% of Thais are strict Buddhists) many western men.

I'm 8.5 stone btw. I looked up what 54.4Kg is. I do my best to think in metric nowadays (bar kph).

I don't dispute that. It's probably the least offensive of any religion. But the choice to follow should be made by a person who knows and understands what it is they follow. If you raise a child in a faith you take away their freedom to choose what's right for them. They will follows said faith because that's all they know.

I disagree with that quite strongly. No wait, thats not true, lets try this - I have seen no evidence of this being ture with the exception of the Islam and scientology. And even that statement is only valid in the uk

To explain more, i grew up in a church of england school, chapel twice a week, communion once a month. During my life I have found myself living amonsgst catholic communities, evangelical christian communities hippies (for want of a better description) and asian communities of varying religeons. I've also had exposure to the world of scientology.

In all cases, with the exception of the islamic and scientology communites whilst children were vrought up on a diet of their parents religeon, those that i got to see mature into adult hood nearly never ended up following the religeon they were borught up with.

The fact is parents mold their kids on themselves. When their children are at an age where they can make their own minds up then fine but until then many of kids thoughts are the same as their parents.

For example I was brought up as a meat eater until the time I decided to be vegetarian I never questioned it but I was never given the choice. To be frank eating meat was imposed on me. As many things are as kids.

I think I might actually be racist against white women. I am just not all that attracted to them, and I also seem to be a bit prejudiced against them, seeing so many white 'tramps' and 'sluts' while growing up and on TV etc etc ...
I know not every white woman is a slut or tramp, and I certainly know not every 'coloured' girl is a saint or something ... but I find myself attracted to non-white girls ALOT more often then I find myself attracted to 'white' women.

I have an asian girlfriend for the last 4,5 years now, and I'll probably spend the rest of my life with her...
I dont know if she's all that different from a nice, shy, sweet, faithfull white girl. I'm sure there are some of those around as well...
I really don't think of her as being 'different' then me, for having another color or whatever. I don't have a white-superiority feeling at all...
I am superior ofcourse, but that's only cause I'm Yi-Long, not cause I'm white or whatever...

I don't think I could fall in love with a religious girl. Moderately religious is OK, as long as she doesnt take it too seriously. I really am a non-believer. I think it's all a load of bullshit, so I doubt I could have a serious relationship with someone who DOES take religion as fact...
I do respect people's right to believe in whatever they want to believe, and I also feel they should always be allowed to live their lives the way they want, so if islamic women want to wear scarfs, or if they wanna keep themselfs away from pork, or whatever, it's cool with me. I could accept a religious woman in my personal life if she wouldnt involve me in it, and with that I mean if she wouldnt force me to keep away from pork etc.

So I am mostly physically attracted to non-white women (there are always exceptions ofcourse), and I personally don't even care much about color (In a way that i would feel they would be of a 'so-called' lesser race or whatever crap some might think).
