Premier League 2005/6 Fantasy Game!!
Well, the fantasy football season should be opening up pretty soon, as the website says it will re-open in July.
Who to go for this year then?!?!
I imagine a few Chelsea players will be high on everyone's list, but then with the odd exception, are all of them guaranteed to be getting a game everyweek? Lampard is likely to be the most sought after, but his price will have rocketed this year I imagine... and with Shaun W-P on his way their (allegedly - or has it been agreed?) and Robben and Duff etc... midfield is going to be a tough one to chose!
And what about Henry? I regretted not having in my team for the first five weeks, where he scored more points than a lot of other players scored in the entire season... but he is likely to be some damn expensive.
Viera is gone, so are Pires and Ljunberg going to get a more regular game? Cause Pires seemed to be used very sparingly at times last season.
And what about the newly promoted teams? Who knows much about them? Will there be another Andy Johnson hidden among them?
Anyway, I thought I'd start the thread so we can get things going once the season does open.
On a side note, I won't be competing as much this year as last year, as I'm away travelling on Oct 10th, so won't has as much access to the internet to update my team as I did last year.

Bloody hell it was very hard to pick a team!!!
I wanted to make sure I had Henry this year, so I took him and that REALLY cut into the rest of my team...
GK - Van Der Saar (Man U) £6m
GK Sub - Carroll (WH) £3.5m
DEF - Gallas (Ch) £7m
DEF - King (TH) £6m
DEF - Perry (Char) £4m
DEF sub - Cooper (Mid) £3.5m
DEF sub - Nosworthy (Sun) £3.5m
MID - Lampard (Ch) £11m (c)
MID - Pires (Ar) £10m
MID - McCulloch (Wi) £6.5m
MID - Miller (Sun) £6m
MID sub - Anderton (Bir) £4.5m
FOR - Henry (Ar) £14m
FOR - Ellington (Wi) £7m
FOR - Fowler (Man C) £7.5m
Total = £100m.
Think there may very well be significant changes before the kick off... I think I've got too many of the new teams' players. But with the main choices (Henry, Lampard etc) being so damn expensive, I had no choice as I had to go for someone cheap who is more likely to get a game!!
Think I'm also going to do a 2nd team that WON'T have Henry in it, just to see if I can do better without him!!!
I won't enter it in here though as then everyone will have 2 teams and it'll get confusing etc...
Edit: Have now done a 2nd team and where possible I've tried to not use any of the same players. Of the first team picks there is only 1 duplicate right now.

That's a little secretive and sneaky, don't you think?!!!
I've got 2 teams now, one with Lampard and Henry and one with neither... I'm thinking I should maybe change that and have one in one and one in the other... as the one that has them both is rather short of cash for decent people in other positions!
But then, maybe I won't and I'll just take the risk...
Edit in:
Question for people - which £6.5m midfielder do you think will be the best one to get?
There is the wigan one who scored 14 goals last season... but in this league he might not do so well...
Then there is the Liverpool signing Sissock (or something like that). He should do reasonably well, if he gets a game frequently that is.
Then there is Jenas at Newcastle - maybe let down a bit by the side he is playing for, but possibly another decent buy...
BUt which of these 3 should I go for????

And another question... what do people think will be the best combination for points?
mid - miller of sunderland £6m
for - Ellington of wigan £7m
or
mid - jenas of newcastle £6.5m
for - bent of everton £6.5m
Not sure which to go for... Ellington could be this years Andy whatshisname from Crystal Palace for all I know...
