Borat movie

Post by grim_tales »

Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan

Is anyone going to see this? :? I've seen a few clips and the trailer, and "interviews" where he is in character but it doesn't look all that funny? :?

What do you think?

This reviewer loved it though:

The "doing press in character" gets old rather quickly, like Bruce Campbell's "Elvis" Bubba Ho-Tep" commentary. But I guess by doing the press as Borat, more people will identify with the movie? :) :?

I think Borat's quite funny so yeah, I might check this out. Only seen one trailer and that made me chuckle.

Ali G is DA MAN! I love his show and each time Borat comes up I can't stop to laugh.

So YES! I will watch that in the theatre. Wohooo... it was released yesterday over here.

I like Borat, his scenes in the Ali G show were extremely funny, but TBH he can also be very cringe-worthy, as in 'ow man that joke is baddddd...' :)
It's so politically incorrect that at the one side it's very funny, and at the other side you go:' ow man, how is he going to get away with that one?', especially ofcourse when the person he's with has no clue that they're part of a big joke, but think Borat's for real :)

One of my favourite Borat scenes was when he met a student rowing team or whatever, and they were all guys,a nd 1 girl... so he greeted all the guys with kisses on the cheek, then he comes to the girl and can only manage to shake her hand :D

it looks downright stupid tbh...i didnt like Ali G anyway, but this looks just plain dumb...i dont understand this guy actually, he acts like a dick yet he's actually rather intelligent..having a degree in history. for me he's just a twat...

oh and that picture of him with the green swim suit thing was hideous, incredibly disturbing...

Ali G was nothing like the TV show (it was also awful), this however looks very similar. Normally I'd be dead against such films but I have to admit this looks bloody funny.

The humour is so dry the Yanks he visits don't get it at all.

It looks so stupid but I'll probably end up seeing it - interestingly Borat has been accused of being anti-semitic (he offends just about everyone in the movie AFAIK) - except the actor/comedian who plays him is himself Jewish.

That's funny :D , of course Borat the character is anti-semitic, that's the whole non-pc point, clearly some have missed that.

I don't believe Sacha BC is.
