"Two women have been killed as Israeli troops opened fire on a crowd of women gathered to help besieged gunmen flee a mosque in Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza."
"One of the women told the BBC they had dressed the militants in women's clothes to help them escape."
"The Israeli military said the women were used as "human shields" and that there had been armed men in the crowd."
Surely these women knew they were putting themselves in grave danger protecting terrorists??

I think they all know they're all in danger pretty much 24/7, living in Palestina with gun-happy jewish soldiers around...
I saw justa flash of the news on TV, havent seen anything in-depth, but the palestines will have their side of the story and Israel will justify their actions by the 'we're hunting down terrorists and sometimes innocent people might be caught by our bullets by mistake' bit...
Soldiers gunning down women always looks bad though...

I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...

Just because the Israelis are trigger happy doesn't automatically mean those that were shot were somehow innocent. That distorts the truth. I'm sure these militants (if you don't wanna call them what they most likely are) would happily kill Israeli soldiers given half a chance. It's not like we're talking about unarmed peace-loving people here. So stop the "everyone hates us Arabs" nonsense. If the victims were not involved in protecting militants I would be the first to condemn. I'm not even saying that the shootings were justified just that the story isn't as one-sided as your title header implies.

Yeah, but that's media perception. I don't draw any lines at gender when it comes to possible terrorist activity. A woman can be as deadly as a man with a gun or a bomb.thelostdragon wrote:And as Yi said: Soldiers gunning down women always looks bad.

It's the "murdering scum" bit that bothers me, you see.
From my POV it's the Israeli who are terrorists.
I happen to be pro-Hamas.

Can't believe I actually understand what Romero is saying
Hamas are militants who got their fighters to dress up as innocent people and/or be used as human shields to protect some BESIEGED GUNMEN who would have killed Israelis. Being trigger happy is indeed wrong, but what would you have done Tom/LD? Hamas are hardly paragons, they are miltants and at worst, terrorists. Nasty Israeli badmen

That's just supporting one bunch of terrorists over another isn't it?tom2681 wrote:It's the "murdering scum" bit that bothers me, you see.

You can't condemn one side and the praise the other for doing the same damn thing.
If the Israelis shot unarmed women then that's unfortunate, but they knew what the consequences of protecting terrorists would be. You can't argue with that, unless you happen to think killing Israelis is OK? In which case why am I wasting my time talking to you?

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

If this is the case then your opinion on 9/11 is that the USA deserved it, because they are protecting killers around the world as well (e.g. in Africa, or the Israeli government). That would be the logical consequence if going by your opinion.romerojpg wrote:Try to protect kilers and you deserve everything that comes to you.

Absolutely rubbish and beneath your intelligence. 3,000 innocent people died on 9/11 not the American foreign policy. You've just justified mass slaughter and that's a disgrace. The Israelis killed militants and those protecting militants. Whom in The Twin Towers was doing that exactly? And Tom, spare me the freedom fighter bullshit. Blowing yourself up on a bus full of men, women and children is not protecting yourself from an army out to get you. This liberal crap may wash with some, but I'm frankly above that. Hamas are terrorists, they don't just fend off military attacks and you know it. I don't justify the worst excesses of Israeli militarism that affect innocents, so why do you defend Hamas? Probably because it's fashionable to be anti-establishment? I went to Uni Tom, I've met dozens of people like you. I'm not fooled in the slightest.thelostdragon wrote:If this is the case then your opinion on 9/11 is that the USA deserved it, because they are protecting killers around the world as well (e.g. in Africa, or the Israeli government). Suicidebombings haven't happened in Palestine in a very long time, Mark. You'll find it every now and then, but it is out of fashion really.
As for 9/11... if I put the story in the way that it was all a terrorist thing (and this is another endless discussion) I'd interpret the attack to be an attack on America and not on the innocent people inside the building and in the area. Why? As they have no opportunity to work against and hit America in political ways.

Looking at the picture here and on the images on TV, I can't see militants being killed. I only see women killed. Women, like my aunt and my cousins who live in the area. And for the fact that it could be them in that picture I am not willing to believe that they deserve death by a murderous attack by Israeli troops. The Israelis killed militants and those protecting militants.

It might be militants dressed in women's clothes? Anyway LD they were going AFTER THOSE WHO WERE PROTECTING MILITANTS. Yet again you've tried to say this is the same as 9/11 which is a bunch of BS - on 9/11 it was innocents who were targeted on purpose on a mass scale. I know you don't like America and Israel is America's best buddy, but sometimes it goes too far.
The Israelis hardly said "Innocent women - attack!" did they?
How were the US protecting killers when 3000+ people died on 9/11?

That is bollocks and you know it. Sometimes I think you just post this stuff to see what response you will get. Hamas/Hezbollah are not freedom fighters.Tom wrote:One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter
